Last week I posted a notice about my upcoming reading at the Richmond Area Arts Council–this Thursday, November 29 at 7:00 p.m. If you’re in the area, I hope you can come. In the meantime, here’s a delightful article about the event from The Richmond Register.

A (New) Hometown Reading
I’m looking forward to reading from The Sisters in my still-new hometown of Richmond, a community which, in the last year, has gone a long way toward making me feel truly welcome. I’ll be sharing the program with my Bluegrass Writers Studio colleague, poet Julie Hensley, whose book, The Language of Horses was published last fall.
If you’re in the Central Kentucky area, please join us on Thursday, November 29 at 7:00 p.m. at the Richmond Area Arts Council, 399 West Water Street. (After all, books always make marvelous Christmas gifts!)

Anniversary Special from BJ’s Wholesale
November 8, 2012 marks the one year anniversary of the hardcover publication of The Sisters–and what a fabulous year it has been for me, thanks to the many, many readers who have taken time to let me know how the book has touched them, to the dozens of reading groups across the country that heard about The Sisters and adopted it for a monthly discussion. This year, I’m getting a delightful anniversary and birthday present (yes, it’s my birthday, too!) from BJ’s Wholesale, which is rolling outthe paperback edition of The Sisters as a November Book Club pick. Click on the link for an interview I did with the folks at BJ’s.
