I’m looking forward to my upcoming phone interview with Caroline McLean of TheReadingRoom.com. We’ll be talking in about three weeks, and the interview will be posted on TheReadingRoom site not long after. In the meantime, you might enjoy the “20 Questions” interview I did with TheReadingRoom last fall.

The Ancestral Chain
A friend of mine emailed me yesterday, including a link to an essay in The New York Times, which he said “had something of The Sisters energy” for him because “the article suggests we never get over being who we are, even if we don’t know who we are.” Nicely put, dear friend! I thought some of you might enjoy reading the essay, too. Here’s the link.

A Busy Fall Season
I’ve been caught up in a splendid whirlwind since The Sisters was released in November, so I was glad for a little reprieve in July. But now it’s August, and I’m thinking ahead to my fall calendar, which I’m sure will get busier as I move forward. For now, here are the events I have scheduled for fall:
Saturday, August 25: Gathering of Authors, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m
Paul Sawyier Public Library, 319 Wapping St, Frankfort, KY
Sunday, September 23: Stars with Accents–Public Reading
Carnegie Center, 251 West Second St, Lexington, KY
Thursday, September 27: Skype Chat with Reading Group
Carroll County Public Library, Ohio
Tuesday, 9 October: Kentucky Great Writers Series–Public Reading
Carnegie Center, 251 West Second St, Lexington, KY
Friday -Sunday, October 12-14: Southern Festival of Books**
Nashville, TN
**I’ll update with a post as soon as my presentation (open to the public) is scheduled.
Lots more exciting news to come (including some I can’t share just now) as the release of the paperback edition of The Sisters approaches. It’s due in early October!
