This Saturday I’ll be participating at a guest speaker at the Berea, Kentucky branch of the American Association for University Women’s Author’s Brunch  & Silent Auction. Proceeds from book sales and from the silent auction go to fund scholarships for women. I’m truly honored to have been invited to speak as part of a program that includes Kentucky Poet Laureate Maureen Morehead–and for such a great cause!

First, I want to send my deepest thanks to all the reading groups who have taken the uncommon step of adopting The Sisters for discussion while it’s still in hardcover.  The greatest post-publication thrill I’ve had so far has been in chatting with various groups–in person, by speaker phone, and by Skype.  Every group has its own unique character, which means, for me, that every conversation, every array of questions, is freshly engaging.

If your reading group has selected or is considering selecting The Sisters, I’d love to hear from you and to arrange to call in, Skype in, (or come in person, if you’re nearby!) if you would like that.
