Today’s the day! I’m thrilled that The Sisters is making its debut in Australia and New Zealand, thanks to the fabulous team at Text Publishing. Readers, I hope you enjoy The Sisters. I’d love to hear from you! Visit me on Facebook, or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
This Saturday I’ll be participating at a guest speaker at the Berea, Kentucky branch of the American Association for University Women’s Author’s Brunch & Silent Auction. Proceeds from book sales and from the silent auction go to fund scholarships for women. I’m truly honored to have been invited to speak as part of a program that includes Kentucky Poet Laureate Maureen Morehead–and for such a great cause!
First, I want to send my deepest thanks to all the reading groups who have taken the uncommon step of adopting The Sisters for discussion while it’s still in hardcover. The greatest post-publication thrill I’ve had so far has been in chatting with various groups–in person, by speaker phone, and by Skype. Every group has its own unique character, which means, for me, that every conversation, every array of questions, is freshly engaging.
If your reading group has selected or is considering selecting The Sisters, I’d love to hear from you and to arrange to call in, Skype in, (or come in person, if you’re nearby!) if you would like that.
Click here for a link to the reading group guide–but if the time comes when we can chat directly, please don’t feel bound to the guide!
This morning I woke to the delightful surprise of learning a review of The Sisters had been posted on the blog McGuffy’s Reader. Thank you, McGuffyAnn! And thanks as well to all the readers of The Sisters who have gone the extra step to write and post reviews or to email me to let me know how the story has touched you. I appreciate you all!
This Friday, March 9, at 7:00 p.m. I’ll be reading from The Sisters at Louisville’s beloved independent bookstore, Carmichael’s. I’ll be at the Frankfort Avenue location–2720 Frankfort Avenue, to be specific. If you live in the Louisville area, please stop by!
