I was happily surprised this morning to learn from family in Louisville, Kentucky, that a review of The Sisters appears in today’s Courier-Journal–Saturday, January 21, 2012. I was even more happily surprised to find that the reviewer is Mary Popham, who reviewed my first book Window: Stories and Essays for the Courier in 2009.

Last night, I had a wonderful time Skyping with a reading group of military wives in New York.   Every reading group I’ve spoken with so far has come to our chat with many wonderful questions, but this group of lovely women responded strongly to the parts of The Sisters that deal with war and its effect on the men who serve in combat.  Most illuminating for me!

I’d love to join other reading groups via Skype–or by speaker phone, which works well, too!

Once again, my deepest thanks go out to the wonderful independent booksellers around the country who have given their support to The Sisters.  Because of them, The Sisters has remained on the ABA Extended Bestseller list for hardcover fiction for an amazing 7th week.
